~November 17, 2012: SWEEP!!!!~
Album Of The Week: This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is something very funny by a man I first saw as an opening act before I'd ever heard of him. The other day I listened to all three of his albums consecutively, which was like my own personal concerto of Comedy. It was good times. I enjoyed it so much that I selected his second album, which is my favorite, as this week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week, Mitch Hedberg's Mitch All Together.

Album Of The Week: This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was about to be Nas' most recent album, Life Is Good. Then I saw this video featuring a new spin on his classic "99 Problems". He now has "99 problems, but Mitt ain't one." Hopefully that's true. If Mitt Romney is elected we'll all have a whole new crop of problems, even the billionaires, because Mitt puts money before the environment and even all that money can't save them from a dying planet. So his new twist on his old song earned Jay-Z this week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week for The Black Album.

Jay-Z - The Black Album

Album Of The Week: Last week's last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was one of my favorite producer-led compilations. It's so good that this is the second time it's been Album Of The Week. Though this album is full of stars the producer and coordinator shines the brightest of them all. Last week's last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was Hi-Tek with Hi-Teknology˛: The Chip.

Hi-Tek - Hi-Technology˛: The Chip

Amazon.Com Freebie Of The Week: This week's Amazon.Com Prime Members' free streaming video of the week is something in celebration of the recent Halloween holiday. For fans of the Horror genre enjoy Hostel (Unrated).

Random Shit: The San Fransisco Giants are once again World Series champions! Rejoice! Rejoice all!

Barack Obama is once again the President of the United States Of America. Perhaps more importantly we may never have to hear the name Mitt Romney again. Rejoice! Rejoice all!

I know this is old shit, but I've been very busy and I'm about to get more busy as I'm moving. Moving alone is a lot of work, but the house needs work, mostly paint and carpet, so keep checking on ThugRadio.Net as updates will resume when I'm able to give it some time.

Album Of The Week: This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is by an African gentleman. Yes, I'm aware we're all of African decent, but this gentleman is actually a native of Somalia, Africa. He has a brand new album out, to which I have yet to listen. This album is very poetic, rhythmic and soulful. Is it weird to refer to a Hip-Hop album as "rhythmic"? This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is K'Naan with Troubadour.

Album Of The Week: Last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was something old and something new. Though recorded in the early to mid 90s it was released until this year by our good friends at WideAwake, the group that bought our old friend Death Row Records and started releasing all the shit they had hidden and locked away in the vault. This is one of those releases. For those who were there it will take you back. For those who weren't you can sample some real hardcore Hip-Hop with a Funk twist. Last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was Tha Dogg Pound with Doggy Bag.

Amazon.Com Freebie Of The Week: This week's Amazon.Com Prime Members' free streaming video of the week is movie about a war between two factions of robots in disguise. Oh yeah, and Leonard Nimoy's in it and he references Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. Enjoy Transformers: Dark Of The Moon.

Random Shit: The Giants are in the World Series and it's exciting.

Yay, Free diarrhea! I mean free Taco Bell tacos! I mean...gross.

Are there really people in America who are stupid enough to think Mitt Romney will fix the economy using the same policies Bush used to dig us into this hole? Speaking of Bush, are there really people who think any President could fix the economy Bush took eight years to tear asunder in a mere four years? I know Romney talks like if he's elected it will start raining gold on inauguration day, but lying for him is a lot like breathing for the rest of us. Do the country and the world a favor and vote Obama.

Album Of The Week: This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is a pimptastic collaboration between a pair of Pomona pimps, pimpin'. I have to admit, lyrically there's not much variation from the central theme of pimpin'. Still, musically over the two discs there's not a weak spot. As is a must for pimp tracks, there's a lot of Funk throughout. This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is Suga Free & Pimpin' Young with Thunder & Lightning.

Amazon.Com Freebie Of The Week: This week's Amazon.Com Prime Members' free streaming video of the week is the amazing true story of a Norse god, for whom Thursday is named. O.K., it's not a true story. Well the Thursday part is a true story. It's Thor.

Album Of The Week: This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is some wicked awesome real raw Hip-Hop. It's a recent compilation by one of my favorite producers chock-full of some of my favorite rappers. This album is a nice alternative to all the commercial bullshit oozing out onto radio and the internet. This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is Statik Selektah with Population Control.

Album Of The Week: Last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was somewhat of a Hip-Hop Opera created by two-thirds of your favorite Hip-Hop hippies, De La Soul. It's a very creative concept album that follows the rise and fall of fictional Hip-Hop group First Serve. I tried to listen to it while I was working-out the other day and found myself just sitting and listening as the story unfolded before my ears. Last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was De La Soul's Plug 1 & Plug 2 Present...First Serve.

~September 22, 2012: Paraplegic Voltron~
Album Of The Week: This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is by a group that is sadly "defunked". While active they flawlessly combined Hip-Hop with Jazz, spaced-out themes and socially-conscience lyrics. Their debut album is one of my favorite albums and I never seem to get tired of it. One time I was watching a six year-old kid and I was playing it in the car. When it ended I asked her what she wanted to hear next and she said that one again. Adults and children agree, this album is excellent and cool like dat. There have been rumors of a new album and shows, but no new material has materialized. This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is Digable Planets with Reachin' (A New Refutation Of Time And Space).

Album Of The Week: Last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was history's greatest rapper. This is the time of year to honor him and his great accomplishments, so we shall. Honor, damn it! This is the album that started it all. From these modest beginnings he went on to become the greatest rapper ever. Last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was 2Pac with his debut album, 2Pacalypse Now.

2Pac - 2Pacalypse Now

Amazon.Com Freebie Of The Week: This week's Amazon.Com Prime Members' free streaming video of the week is one of my all-time favorite shows. I've haven't watched the show for years and I can't wait to start streaming sometime after Baseball's over. Quantum Leap.

Random Shit: There's been a lot of talk recently about the alleged ghostwriting on Nas' eponymous (Untitled) album by stic.man & Jay Electronica. Who cares? Even if we forget that the world of Hip-Hop is the only place that it matters if one actually writes what they recite. Even politicians, the people we choose to make the most important decisions in the world, have speech writers. Even if we throw all that out, it's still not a big deal. Nas has written some of the most important songs in Hip-Hop history. If this particular time he wanted to convey an idea that someone else could write more eloquently, good for him. We should applaud him for being able to put his ego away and ask for help. That eponymous album, which is often referred to as Untitled for some reason, is a very good album. If he had a little help, thank you Nas, for getting help and making the album the best it could be.

Now that Romney has officially dismissed half of America as unrepentant lazy freeloaders and not his concern, while he, himself, gets a 50% tax break, can we all agree Obama is the clear choice this November?

I have a huge problem with this Yunel Escobar issue that was such a huge issue this week. "Tu Ere Maricon", which loosely translates in English to "you are a faggot", would be vitriolic and completely unacceptable if he had directed it toward a homosexual. Words are only as meaningful as the intent behind them. Who hasn't called a heterosexual friend a fag? Meanwhile Chick-Fil-A openly and proudly discriminates against homosexuals and they get people lining up around the block in support. That's hatred. Politians, like the aforementioned Mitt Romney, proudly campaign on the platform of denying right to homosexuals for simply being themselves. They're actually running with promises of discrimination. Don't get your panties all in a bunch over a word. Rally against those who actually preach hatred and discrimination. I do, however, agree with the punishment. He's at work. Unfortunately, even in America, we're not always allowed self-expression at work. A waitress can't walk around with the word "faggot" written on her face at work, unless, of course, she works at Chick-Fil-A.

Finally, I can not be the only person who heard, and consistently hears, "whoop 'em condom style" every time I hear "Gangnam Style".

Album Of The Week: This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is by a prolific rapper/producer who's been excelling at his crafts since the early '90s, and making underground mixtapes since the late '80s, and he's still going strong. There are a plethora of artists who have made funky music, but not many who have made it "Way 2 Fonky." This week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is DJ Quik with The Best Of DJ Quik: Da Finale.

Album Of The Week: Last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was the best alliance in Hip-Hop. It's a duo, who don't work as a duo nearly often enough. In the early days of their career they caused quite a "Rawkus." Their debut album, which is also their only album as a duo, is a highly touted Hip-Hop classic and our Album Of The Week. Last week's ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was Black Star with Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star.
