Comments: On his third non-N.W.A. album Ice Cube brings some good songs, but overall I don't really like the beats. A lot of them are just too chaotic for me. Maybe it's just because after rhyming over Dre beats anything seems weak. It's interesting that there are some ignorant anti-"white people" songs, anti-Korean shit and a song about "black people" who aren't "black" enough, then a song called "Color Blind". Ice Cube is an excellent lyrisist & vocalist, so it isn't all bad. There are some cases in which this album's strengths outweigh its faults, like on 2, 6, 7, 9 (has some nice George Clinton samples), 10, 17, 18 & 20 (which is an N.W.A. diss). - D
