Comments: "Parking Garage" is my favorite song from Baby Talk. Not to sound conceided or anything, but I really like the way it came out. It gets in my head all the time. It's just sexy. I'm just really parital to the Doo-Wop sound we used on this song. So why, you may ask, is it the third single from Baby Talk and not the first? The answer is simple, cow scrotum. The real answer is more complex, not really, it's one minute and twenty-two seconds long and I didn't really have enough related material to warrant a single. It's an a cappella song, so I couldn't put up the mixtape version, instrumental and a cappella. I just had one one minute and twenty-two seconds long song. Instead of making "Parking Garage" it's own single I made a radio version and tacked it onto the Sweet Liberty Johnson: The Delicious E.P..
Finally, I decided I wanted to make a single, so I needed to formulate some more related material. I now had the radio version, but I still needed more. So I made the remix specifically so I could make a single. I didn't really want to make a remix or feel like it needed to be remixed, but I needed more tracks. The remix gave me an additional five tracks, which seemed necessary since it's only one minute and thirty-eight seconds long.
Then Phil came to me with his remix of "Gangsta," which is from Bees Knees Grow On Trees Or My Penis Is In Your Eye. I liked Phil's remix, and, since it's another short song, I decided to make the "Parking Garage" single the Parking Garage/Gangsta (Double Single). Even at sixteen tracks it comes in at a whopping thirty-one minutes and fifteen seconds.
It might be slighty weird to have a single with dueling A-sides that come from different mixtapes, this is the third single from Baby Talk and only the first from Bees Knees Grow On Trees Or My Penis Is In Your Eye, but not nearly as weird as it is to have singles from free mixtapes or as weird as it is to create and release Comedy mixtapes.
Again, it's free, so download it and give it a listen, or one hundred million listens. If you like it pass it on and check out the rest of my shit.
As usual all the covers were done by ThugRadioSmurf and she made a lot of covers for one little free single. - D (1:51 PM 6/20/2010)
