Comments: This book has been years in the making. I started writing poems and lyrics when I was about 13. I used to want to be a rapper or a singer or both, but I'm not really that good at either. Finally I decided I should just compile my shit as a book.

The book was initially finished in December of 2005. I've finished it a few more times since then, most recently Saturday (it's now Wednesday. Oohh, freaky time-paradox? No, just a different week.), which is going to be the last and final version...for now.

I had high hopes of releasing this book in 2006. That didn't happen. It turns out an unknown author is supposed to remain unknown. I couldn't find any publishing companies that would accept unsolicited manuscripts. It's the old addage, "I can't get a job, because I don't have any experience, but how am I supposed to get experience if I can't get a muthafuckin' job." I decided I would try to put it out myself. It turns out I can't afford to put it out myself. I then decided I would get a grant as an author. I could get the money I needed to put the book out, for advertising and also get a salary as an author. It turns out I need $4,000 dollars to get professional help to prepare the papers to get the grant and, if the papers aren't perfect, they are always declined. I don't have an extra $4,000 sitting around to gamble on the possibility of getting a grant. Finally I decided, and I don't know what took me so long to figure this out, I should put it out as an e-book. I can do that for free.

Then I realized I didn't have a cover and I probably should have one. One of my very best friends, Sarah Anderson, lists painting as one of her favorite hobbies, so I asked her to make me a cover. I had knew what I wanted and relayed my concept to her. My concept was to have George Bush holding a gun and a bible in front of a burning flag. She reluctantly, as she specializes in flowers and landscapes, accepted. I later decided that I wanted it to be a non-descript politician as a more all-encompassing representation of the corruption and destruction caused by our elected officials for the sake of their "morals", as opposed to putting it all on one man, no matter how evil that man may be. She agreed, made the necessary adjustments and I think it came out pretty good. It's a hell of a lot better than I could have done.

The book itself could be described as a poetry book with a Hip-Hop/Soul mentality out for Peace & justice. I think the title really describes the content pretty well. There are items about love, items about life, items that are humorous and items that call for a change.
