Bio From Wikipedia
Boog and Khrysis were introduced to each other in 2001 by Little Brother's 9th Wonder, and became members of the Justus League collective as well as working together as The Away team. Boog had previously contributed to The Foreign Exchange’s debut album, Connected and the Justus League’s mixtape NC State Of Mind, while Khrysis had undertaken production work for Jean Grae, Big Pooh, and Masta Ace. Their debut album, National Anthem, was released in May 2005 on 6 Hole Records, and featured guest appearances from Joe Scudda, Chaundon, Smif-n-Wessun, and Little Brother's Big Pooh and Phonte. It was described by ALARM magazine as "a combination of consistent rhymes and better than stellar production". Second album Training Day was released in 2007 on the Hall of Justus label, featuring contributions from unofficial third member Nervous Reck, Evidence (of Dilated Peoples), Sean Price, Black Milk, Supastition and Darien Brockington. The duo also contributed two tracks to the Hall of Justus album Soldiers of Fortune.
Sean Boog's Bio From Wikipedia
Sean Boog got his start in music by making mix tapes with a high school friend after several years of writing short rhymes in elementary and middle school. His launching pad into the music industry came when he was later introduced to Khrysis by critically acclaimed producer 9th Wonder. It is alleged that 9th Wonder actually gave Sean Boog his moniker. The musical chemistry between Sean Boog and Khrysis lead to the formation of The Away Team. The group got its name from Phonte, one half of the group Little Brother. Later, the rapper was inducted into the Justus League rap collective in 2001 after making guest appearances on several mix tapes and albums of its members, such as the Grammy nominated group, The Foreign Exchange’s album Connected in 2004.
In 2005, the emcee released National Anthem, with group member producer Khrysis, on the independent record label 6Hole records. In 2007, he appeared on 9th Wonder's album, The Dream Merchant, Vol. 2. The following month, the he and Khrysis followed up with their long awaited sophomore effort Training Day in 2007. Most recently, the group released The Warm Up in May 2009, a collection of songs featuring fellow North Carolinian emcee Nervous Reck and Roc Nation artist J. Cole. The album was originally slated for release prior to Training Day being recorded.
In 2009, Sean Boog teamed up with DJ Babu, one third of the underground rap Dilated Peoples, to form Los Carolina. The move proved to increase his ever growing fan base. The two met while Sean Boog was on tour with Little Brother in 2007. In November 2009, the duo leaked the singles More Than Okay featuring Khrysis and Looks Easy to the internet. There is no word of when a full length album will be released.
Khrysis' Bio From Wikipedia
Khrysis is one of the main in-house producers for North Carolina rap collective the Justus League, alongside 9th Wonder. In addition to producing Justus League artists he has also produced for artists such as Sean Price, Masta Ace, and Jean Grae. His productions utilize samples of records with intricate melodies and diverse drum beats. He began in his teens, recording tracks from his father's massive jazz and R&B record collection onto tape, and then extracting drum samples to make loops using a dual cassette player. He met rapper Chaundon at NC Central University, who introduced him to 9th Wonder. Later, he began an association with the Justus League. With fellow League member Sean Boog, he formed the Away Team, releasing debut album National Anthem, in May 2005, and the follow-up, Training Day, in 2007. In 2007, Khrysis was chosen by Nike to create the soundtrack to the documentary LACED, celebrating 30 years of Nike's association with Basketball.
Khrysis has most recently worked as producer on projects such as Heltah Skeltah's album D.I.R.T., Rapper Big Pooh's solo album Dirty Pretty Things, and L.E.G.A.C.Y.'s Suicide Music, as well his own solo project Khrysis On The Boards With The Heat vol 2 (with DJ Rhettmatic) and The Away Team's latest album The Warm Up.
